ASTM B335 Round Bar

ASTM B335 Round Bar is a solid solution strengthened, nickel-molybdenum material, with significant resistance to reducing environments like hydrogen chloride gas, and sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Molybdenum is the primary alloying element which provides significant corrosion resistance to reducing environments. This nickel steel alloy can be used in the as-welded condition because it resists the formation of grain-boundary carbide precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone. This nickel alloy provides excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. In additions, Hastelloy B2 has excellent resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack. Alloy B2 provides resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids.

Hastelloy B2 Round Bar

Hastelloy B2 Round Bars is a nickel-chromium alloy bar that contains supplemental amounts of columbium, iron, molybdenum, aluminum, and titanium. Hastelloy B2 Round Bars have high strength properties, heat treatable, good corrosion resistance, formability and weldability. Hastelloy B2 Round Bars is commonly used for valves, fasteners, tubing materials and mandrels. Hastelloy B2 Round Bars has excellent cryogenic and heat ranges. Common uses of Hastelloy B2 include deployment in gas turbines, subservice safety valves, aircraft engines, thrust reversers, and industrial fasteners.

ASTM B335 specification covers rod of nickel-molybdenum alloys of N10665 (Hastelloy B2) for use in general corrosive services. The material shall conform to the required chemical composition for nickel, molybdenum, iron, chromium, carbon, silicon, cobalt, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, vanadium, nickel, molybdenum, aluminum, columbium, copper, tantalum, titanium, tungsten, zirconium, and magnesium.
